Agnesse Tchamabe: Royal Divine Pearl

After studying International Events Management at University, Agnesse Tchamabe decided to start an event planning company, a venture she knew would enable her to put her academic knowledge into practice.

Launched in May this year, RoyalDivinePearl offers a range of event planning services, including consulting, designing, coordination, and decoration for every type of event and occasion. As an experienced event planner, Agnesse ensures that every event is planned with regards to both the cultural and traditional aspects of the clients.

Reflecting on her first few months in business, Agnesse admits that it was challenging establishing RoyalDivinePearl as a high-quality event planning service, noting that the fierce competition in the industry has slowed down her progress. However, Agnesse emphasises the importance of keeping an optimistic view, advising others in a similar position to “be memorable and be helpful to the consumer”.

With no previous experience of running her own business, Agnesse sought help from PNE Enterprise in completing her business plan, an important step which she states has enabled her to understand and manage her business more effectively: “By committing my thoughts to paper, I was able to understand my business better and to chart specific courses of action that needed to be taken to improve my business.

“PNE Enterprise helped guide me through the initial business planning, the essentials of operating my own business, who I’ll need to tell about my new venture, and how to get noticed.”

Agnesse’s three tips for anyone thinking about starting their own business are: seek advice from PNE Enterprise, be aware of your competitors and never underestimate the power of marketing. Living by the quote ‘when you stop marketing, customers stop watching’, Agnesse firmly believes that all businesses should invest the time into creating an effective marketing strategy, adding: “ensure that you are constantly nourishing and sharing your brand. Be unique.”

In the future, Agnesse hopes to launch her own business networking events, an opportunity she hopes will enable her to meet new customers and to promote her events planning business further.
