Current funded programmes of support with PNE Enterprise include:
Get Growing! Comprehensive scale-up support for your business
PNE Enterprise is supporting start-ups with scale-up potential to enrol on a bespoke programme aimed at businesses with high-growth potential.
Businesses set up by 18-35 year olds that have been operational for less than twelve months are invited to apply for a place on Get Growing, which will support 20 North East companies with a six-month development programme tailored to the unique requirements of their business ambitions.
Every business on the programme will receive a personal business advisor, access to professionals such as management coaches, experienced accountants and social media experts, networking opportunities and 24 months’ access to online business support. In addition, the package of support will be tailored to the needs of each individual business and may also include access to finance, subsidised workspace rental, payment for entry to conferences and trade shows and market research trips.
Grow your business or become more entrepreneurial in the work place
PNE Enterprise support those who are employed by a small or medium business or are self-employed to access support from the governments Skills Support for the Workforce programme to develop their entrepreneurship skills.
If you are aged 16 or over and based in the North East you could be eligible to receive fully funded learning about growing your business or becoming more entrepreneurial in the work place. A choice of two programmes are available to participants - a residential weekend which will include an intensive timetable of learning and workshops, as well as networking opportunities or self-managed learning undertaken during evening and weekend.
NEA business start-up support for the unemployed
PNE Enterprise delivers the New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) initiative in the North East, which can provide money and support to help you start your own business if you’re currently claiming Jobseekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Income Support, and in some circumstances if you receive Universal Credit.
If you are over 18 and have an idea for a business that you would like to make reality, NEA can support you to develop your plan and gain the skills you need to make your business a success. The package includes a free place on an eight-week business course in which you’ll learn about the key skills you need to run a business and hear from expert speakers, one-to-one support from a mentor who will help you develop a robust business plan and potentially access to finance. Your Jobcentre Plus work coach can advise if you qualify and refer you to the scheme, which will not affect your weekly allowance or other government benefit income.
